What you need to qualify
To ensure our student’s success, we require all candidates to be at least 18 years of age and possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
We ask candidates to demonstrate their fluency in English and their target language by providing one or more of the following documents:
A diploma from a country in which your target language is spoken
A transcript that shows 15+ credit hours completed in your target language
Test scores from a course in your target language

If you can’t provide any of the above documentation:
You can qualify by completing a 15 to 30 minute oral language assessment through Language Testing International (LTI). This assessment can be completed remotely and tests for fluency in english and your target language only—no interpreting or medical expertise required! After you register for the test, MiTio will follow up to help you schedule your assessment and discuss next steps.

Yes, MiTiO has been in existence since 2004. It is Accredited by the IMIA (International Medical Interpreters Association) and accepted nationally by employers and used by alumni to sit for their certification exam with NBCMI and/or CCHI MiTio Accreditation:

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MITIO AND ANOTHER ONLINE PROGRAM?
MiTiO has been in existence since 2004 and has a very good reputation in the industry as we have good outcomes. Most of our Alumni are employed and those that have sought certification have obtained it. We are also Accredited by the IMIA - International Medical Interpreters Association. MiTiO is a 60 HR program not 40 HR program in keeping with new IMIA training standards. MiTiO offers Live Practice Sessions that help you gain experience and prepare you for the oral certification exam.
HOW MANY HOURS A WEEK DOES THE CLASS TAKE?
The course is designed to be completed in 6 weeks at 6-7 hours per week. Assignment Approximate Hours per Week Each Learning Path 1 hour – 90 minutes Each Practice Session 1 hour Each Project 1 hour – 90 minutes Forum Post per unit 1 hour Each Essay/Book Review 1 hour – 90 minutes. The course may be completed in 6 months (self-paced schedule). However, we require that each student enrolled, complete at least one unit per month of enrollment in the program. Even though the course is designed to be completed in 6 weeks, it can be accomplished in a little as two weeks, or spread out over a longer period to fit your schedule.
